Here is the almost finished mini sample of my first weaving on the rigid heddle loom. I used 8/4 cotton warp and a 10-dent reed. I haven't washed it yet. I'm a bit afraid to because you aren't supposed to be gentle with a sturdy weave when you wash them. I'm used to washing wool! I'll get over it because I *need* to know how it will look and feel after washing. I'll throw it in with the next load of jeans. Yowza.
I almost had jury duty tomorrow. However, the parties settled out of court, so I'll be teleworking tomorrow. Hurray! I'm home!
I wandered around with the camera this evening. The light wasn't the best for photos but there are things growing here! The miniature eggplant should be ready in a few days. Mini eggplant Parmesan, anyone? Stacey's hollyhock seeds are growing! I'll pick filet green beans tomorrow...hopefully when the mosquitoes are otherwise occupied. They were quite the pests this evening.

Sprouting hollyhock babies from Stacey
Mini eggplants...I think they are mature at four inches. They have a little bit of growing yet.
Have a happy Thursday!
Your photos are lovely! What kind of camera do you use?

You are definitely a woman of many talents. Knitting, spinning, weaving, awesome picture taking. Love love love the pictures. Nice way to add brightness to an otherwise rainy morning here in NYC!

Won't the top and bottom edges of the woven piece be subject to raveling? Clearly my knowledge of weaving is meager.

Lovely weaving. It won't ravel because you have little knots in there.
And lovely flowers too.
And thanks for telling me Faroese, I'm loving it!

Great flower picks. I absolutely love nasturtiums (both for eating and looking at). Hooray for the out-of-court settlement!

Shocking beauty of great blessings.
My SIL is a lawyer and has been coaching us on how to not be chosen for jury duty. She says she would never want to be tried by 12 people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.
