I have been knitting and here's some evidence. I've been working on increasing my speed but, of course, for me with speed (I use that term loosely) comes ..........
a hole. I found it yesterday just as my plane reached cruising speed to Madison; a short flight so not that much of a loss. I think I have a spare yarn-over there but I'm not sure. I've been researching my Knit Fix book for a solution to that and all Lisa Kartus says is to tink. /sigh. Is it possible to just "drop down" and fix it? I've got errands to run this morning so I won't be playing with it too soon. I will be seeing my DSIL Anne tomorrow, I think, and she will probably know how to fix it....besides tinking, I hope. *g*
I walked around outside early this morning and found some things to share with you. Here's a blue flag iris growing in the stream, which is still flowing but the volume of water is much reduced.
I've been walking a lot lately and feeling really good. I've even been feeling skinny-er but when I step on the scale it says "so what if you've been walking.....walk more!" So, I'll take the mood improvement and hope for more as I keep walking. I've found a place to stay about two blocks from the office in DC so I'll be able to avoid the "sweaties" in the morning. I plan to walk to and on the "Mall" in the evenings so I can keep up the walking and walk in a place where there will be a lot to see. I'll have to walk a few blocks to get to the Washington Monument end. I'll be able to gauge my progress by how far I get on the Mall.
Happy Friday!
Have you ever read Shanti? http://artemesia.typepad.com/adventures_in_paradise/
She's stationed in D.C. A really sweet person. No, I've never met her, but we were part of the RAOK ring before ravelry came along and ruined everything!
You know what? (not chicken butt) It really doesn't matter what happens with the weight. It is the health and the feeling. I was feeling better (or is it the drugs?) just eating healthier, non prepackaged foods. The weight loss... bonus! Personally, I don't care what the corn council says... high fructose corn syrup may be the devil in disguise.

Muscle weighs more than fat. You could be losing but gaining muscle from the walking and therefore not seeing a lower number.
Is it just a YO that you don't need? If it is, just drop it and keep going. Once you're done, you can tug a bit on the yarn to move that little bit of extra around. By the time you're done blocking, you won't be able to tell. Trust me. Happens all the time over here.

I like Cookie's solution :-) That is lovely yarn -- is it the Noro sock yarn? Pretty colors and transitions.

Pretty! Looks like Noro sock from here, too...

I'd drop it first to make sure I had to tink back. Also? What Cookie said. ;)
Walking on the Mall sounds fabulous! there's so much to see in DC. And it's a great mood enhancer. The weight will take care of itself.

I agree about dropping it - if that leaves a hole that won't tug out, you could twist it (like a M1) and knit in that (eliminate the hole). If the stitch count is a problem sneak in a k2tog.
Love the flag - happy walking!

If you feel slimmer, then forget what the scale says. Just keep walking because it makes you feel good. As for the knitting hole just stitch it up and pretend liek it never happened. The photo fo the thyme is amazing!

what cookie said.. also, you can use a crochet hook to redistribute the extra yarn that might float around. it's kind of hard to explain, but i know you'll figure it out.

Woot for feeling skinny-er! Never mind the weight, it'll fall off when it's good and ready. The thyme photo is far out.
